Order, Order!

What is it with politicians? It used to be an old boys club, but now it's just a self-service cash buffet! That House of Lords is no better. While setting our taxes, it seems that most of them have been doing everything possible to avoid paying themselves. Setting up huge nest-eggs in Lichtenstein. Why? Because they're rich obviously, and that's how they intend to stay. It's only a few weeks past that it came to light that UK politicians were claiming all sorts of ridiculous expenses, most of them fabricated, and that just to be safe, they'd destroyed all the associated paperwork. Even better still, on the orders of the man investigating abuse of expenses and who had been exposed doing just that himself. No wonder the MP's were all cheering him when he returned to the Houses of Parliament. He'd done them all a massive favour.

It's not like the old days, when the principal objective was to gain the favour of the King, incriminate your enemies in plots and thus acquire their land and titles for yourself. That sort of treachery was practically admirable, and certainly had to be practiced to perfection by the highest ranking nobles in the land.

The latest bee in my bonnet, and it's been there for a while, is the other recent ongoing betrayal of the nation by our politicians. The decision whether to allow us a referendum on the EU Constitution, now the EU treaty, but almost identical in all ways. Except Gordon Brown merits the change of name enough to deny us the referendum we were promised and on the back of which Labour were re-elected. They lied and they don't care. They rubbed it in our faces by denying us a vote on the issue. The only possible outcome is that we will become a vassal to Germany and France. Why would our government want that? I know why, and I told you almost a year ago. Nothing's changed. Blair and Brown cut a deal, it's so obvious, Brown for PM, Blair for Euro-President. That's why it's essential that Brown blocks a referendum at all costs, he promised Tony, who guaranteed it to the Euro-parliament in return for the supreme leadership. Despicable!

Lying Their Heads Off!

I've told you before how recorded history and our perception of ancient times, is but a tissue of lies. I've been thinking about it, and it's no wonder that we generally accept the lies we're told about the past, because we're also being lied to constantly about the future and especially about the present. The governments are lying, the police are lying, the intelligence services are lying, scientists are lying, and we lie to ourselves when we acept their word as truth.

So, it's not hard to see how history is founded on lies, because the people who recorded it were being lied to at the time. The truth is something of an anomalie in history, it seems like it doesn't belong, because it is surrounded by lies. For instance, did Gnaeus Julius Agricola score a great victory over the Picts at the battle of Mons Graupius? History says he did, history being the written record of Tacitus, Agricola's son-in-law. Surely he wouldn't have lied or exaggerated about those events.

More recent memory make us wonder just how big the lies our own governments feed us, can get? Promised a referendum on the EU Constitution, and returned to power on that basis, only to slap the people in the face, and surrender sovereignty to the very people we fought 2 World Wars against. Unbelievable! Then there's climate change, what's really happening? I know what we're being told, and I know how it will affect me. Apparently I need to pay more Road Tax for my car, extra fuel duty if I fly and pay to have my rubbish emptied (which I already pay Council Tax for). Only in this way, can I save the planet! Would it be cynical of me to suspect that governments Worldwide are opportunists seizing on the chance to bleed us dry in the name of Planetary salvation?

I'm almost certain that the figures have been massaged. Yes, climate change is happening and man could be to blame, but we all know that countries such as the U.S., China and India, as well as some Eastern European countries are definitely not giving a shit, yet we must pay for it! Let me put it this way, no amount of money paid by people in the UK, or any household energy savings here in the UK are going to make a grain of difference. The goverment know that, it's time you realised... you're being lied to again!

European Constitution Or Fourth Reich?

So, Tony's done a deal on the revived European Constitution, and it only remains for Gordon Brown to ratify it ASAP (at least before anyone can examine the detail). What's more, Tony has allegedly secured agreement on Britain retaining all the powers we wanted to keep, so a referendum will no longer be necessary (he says!).

That's the official story anyway, but as a Eurosceptic, I doubt that there's much more than a thinly veiled bunch of double-dealing going on right there. Only last week it was said that the UK's desire to hold on to those key powers would potentially scupper the whole deal, if we insisted on it. Then it goes through without any complaints at all? So, what's changed? Obvious really, it's clearly been agreed that we can keep those powers, just until the signature dries. As soon as we've signed up to it, the fineprint will reveal that each right that we've retained will be slowly whittled away piece by piece, until we're powerless against the jackboots of the Eurocratic Army!

First up, Germany and France (probably Italy too) want to re-write the history books, that part about the World Wars, let's play those down for a start, or better still, remove them altogether. Genocide of the Jews, can't have that either, because let's face it, we thought we'd won the War, but no, that was just a battle, the real victors are about to emerge and take control of their empire, just as they originally intended.

The whole EU thing just stinks so badly. The only thing that will come out of bringing so many countries together is, when one of those countries realises it's getting a raw deal and wants out, the big guns will say "Too late, you signed up to it, try and get out and we'll crush you with a New Blitzkreig!" So then, every country will take their side, and you have another World War.... nice.

What's more, the Eurocrats are as corrupt as can be and refuse to allow any auditing into their financial double-dealings. Those who were caught flagrantly stealing billions of euros were pensioned off with a pat on the back... absolutely ridiculous. Believe me, the whole thing will end in tears, it can't fail to!

Fingers Crossed for the SNP !

OK, I've been watching the election results closely all day, and it's still too close to count, and the electoral system is clearly the shambles we expected. Take a look at the Scottish Parliament and you'll get a good idea why anything remotely concerning Scottish politics, usually ends up a disaster.

Although my political opinions might not interest anyone further afield than Elgin, this is my platform and I will express them, because that is my constitutional right.

I did vote for the SNP, not because I agree with probably half of their policies, but because I wanted Labour out, and in that respect, only the SNP have the potential to drive them out. The trouble with our electoral system is, even if the SNP gain a majority, unless they find another party willing to form a coalition, we could be looking at another Lib/Lab alliance, especially with the Lib Dem reluctance to allow the people of Scotland the chance to have a referendum on Independence. My cynical side tells me that it's an obvious ploy by them to get back into bed with Labour.

Anyway, I here you ask, why do I want Labour out so badly? Well, if you lived here in the North East of Scotland, you wouldn't need to ask. I can't think of a single positive thing Labour has done for me since devolution. There are many negatives though, too many:
  • I now owe £13,000 in loans and fees for educating myself.
  • I haven't had an NHS dentist for 4 years. My last dentist was a South African, who went private as soon as he was able. I can't afford private treatment, so I don't get any. Welcome to the Third World !
  • The road infrastructure here is probably 30 years out-of-date and public transport is expensive, occasional and fairly inaccessble!
  • My country is involved in at least 2 pointless wars, which have no support by the people and we're losing badly!
  • There are no jobs here, what few jobs there were have been filled by immigrant workers, prepared to work for the minimum wage (sometimes less), and this in turn has driven wages down also!
  • Bizzarely, last year, although a full-time student with a wife and 2 kids, my student loans were considered by the Council to be income, and I had to pay full rent and council-tax, wtf?

These are my grievances with Labour! I don't know what a SNP in majority will do for this country, but even if it's only enough to give Labour a fright, that will do for me!

Saintly Tony dreams of a EU superstate !

So, all ths signs point to the US or Israel launching some sort of nuclear strike on Iran, possibly before the month is out, on the pretext that someday they might be able to make a tiny litle nuke. Where will that leave Blair? who has promised that he will unveil his legacy to us in the next 3 weeks. It looks like his legacy may well be a signature for the EU constitution, which he promised us a referendum on, but we never got it did we, because we would have voted it down big-style. Fortunately for us though, Tony is a man of vision, he has seen the future, and its one where someone else will have to sort out the shit he's left behind. He made a lot of promises didn't he, and he's certainly bowing out on a high: high taxes, high cost of living, high cost of travelling, high cost of fuel, high cost of utilities, high migrant work force, high crime stats, high chance of getting MRSA should you chance going to hospital. Thanks for the memories Tony, you really made this nation great once again.
